BUILDING COMMUNITY

6 times a year we host a For the Culture Charity Night. We are proud to have been able to impact hundreds of men through our homeless feeding efforts, and hundreds of children too, with our Bless a Birthday, in the USA! Now that we've moved to beautiful Bermuda, we've revamped our efforts to include a social aspect as well. These events will take place during non-peak seasons. We are SO excited!
*Covid-19 update: Every time of year is now a "non-peak" season so we will continue our efforts through the summer

For the Culture hosted an Adult Game Night at Boundary Bar & Grille in support of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Bermuda. In speaking with a board member, who educated us about the organization and it's additional needs, we dedicated this event to collecting grocery vouchers. BBBS, often has corporate sponsors, as many organizations do, however, have found themselves at a loss when families don't have the means to purchase food. That said, we tailored this event to that. For the Culture and Big Brothers Big Sisters had an awesome night and raised over $500 in Grocery Store Gift Vouchers!

We hosted our Adult Game Night at Boundary Bar & Grille in support of Bermuda Sickle Cell Association. Another amazing night of fun, food and games. We got to meet with the President and Vice President, both living with sickle cell disease.  People with Sickle Cell face many challenges, like severe pain, episodes, stroke and organ damage. They provided us with a hospital wish list and For the Culture collected enough items from their wish list, to enable Bermuda Sickle Cell Association to put together 6 packages for members in the hospital.

For the Culture provided The Family Center with choreography and direction for their commercial to advertise their Lip Sync Challenge. This is one of the many fund raising events the Family Center hosts to support their year round operations and programs.

For the Culture has hosted a homeless feeding program since 2014. During that time we have done countless events with the Men's Shelter of Charlotte. Collectively, we have served over 1000 meals to the homeless community living in and around the shelter and community. The team made and packaged all the meals, bagged them up and took to the shelter and streets to converse and care for the men.

Working with Bright Blessings was a wonderful experience. Our team and volunteers were able to collect and sponsor their Bless-a-Birthday Program which provides:
  • Birthday celebrations at homeless shelters, transitional housing facilities and domestic violence programs.
  • Birthday packages for transient homeless students
  • Gifts, cake kits & party packs for disadvantaged families
Additionally the team volunteered at Bright Blessings to support their in house operational efforts as well.
